xSHARE
The xShare project is a Horizon Europe-funded initiative that aims to empower individuals to share their health data seamlessly, securely and interoperably across Europe. It aligns with the forthcoming European Health Data Space Regulation (EHDS) and supports data portability under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
IEEE – through its European branch the IEEE Technology Center GmbH, is partner in the xShare consortium with over 40 organisations, co-led by MedCom (DK) and HL7 Europe (BE), along with other standards developing organizations, industry associations, national and regional ministries of health, government agencies, and SMEs as early xShare adopters in eight European Member States.

Expected deliverables
The mission of xShare is to advance the position of Europe in global standards with the EU-xShare industry label, supported by the European EHRxF Standards and Policy Hub for people to receive better and safer healthcare, health systems to be more resilient, and the European digital health industry to be more competitive in the EHDS.
