IEEE SA wins the Digital Humanism in Practice Award 870 489 IEEE Europe

IEEE Europe received the First Prize in the Digital Humanism in Practice Award, in recognition of IEEE SA’s leadership in human-centric and value-based development and deployment of AI Systems. The awards, handed over at a ceremony at the ORF Center in Vienna, celebrates IEEE’s impact in the practical application of digital humanism through the development of a series of standards, frameworks and certifications.

The award is organized annually by msg Plaut and Austrian Digital Value (ADV), with scientific oversight from the Association for the Promotion of Digital Humanism. It highlights organizations, projects, and individuals for their outstanding contribution to the promotion or implementation of the principles of digital humanism.

Clara Neppel, Senior Director of IEEE European Business Operations, received the Digital Humanism in Practice Award from Sabine Herlitschka, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Infineon Technologies Austria AG. Reflecting on receiving the awards she said:

“At IEEE, we believe that technology must serve people, society and the common good. This award is a recognition of our ongoing commitment to embed human values into the design and governance of technology. IEEE will continue to build bridges between engineers, policymakers, and citizens so that innovation reflects what truly matters: dignity, fairness, and trust.”
